Not for Folks with Morals.

Pros

Large operation, lots of locations.

Cons

Miracle ear pretends they are the leaders of cutting edge technology in the Hearing industry. In reality they repackage hearing aids from manufacturers like Signia and Starkey and call it their own innovation to woo patients. Then they ask that you sell these things for 9000 a pop, and not to take no for an answer. They purposely try and mislead patients about insurance coverage and benefits, and actively keep things vague on the phone so you'll come in. Mainly franchise based so your mileage may vary, but the management and workers in my office didn't know the first thing about hygiene and cleanliness in a patient environment, truly horrifying the amount of cross contamination I imagine they've caused.

Pros

Vacation and health benefits. Not the best but better than nothing. Support team is good and they leave you alone as long as your close rate and ASP is on point. The salary/commission is better than some and less than others but I would say it’s “average”.

Cons

ME is a retailer and they will get every cent possible. Recently they have raised the price of hearing aids much higher than our competition but you can sell them cheaper (at the price they should be) but you have to give up part of your commission. Salary doesn’t mean salary, if you work less than 80 hours bi-weekly and do not use your vacation time, they will divide your yearly salary by 52 and then by 40 and pay you an hourly wage. If they cannot get money from the patient, they’ll get it from you.
