Zero communication on performance appraisals and goals. Despite my giving almost six weeks notice of my resignation so that the backfill started the Monday after my departure, the company refused to pay out any leave above the 16 hours "permitted" in the employee manual. And, you can't submit leave once you submit your resignation. Crazy company policy that is completely short sighted and self defeating.
Great Pay
Flexible time at office
No Micromanagement
Possibility for travel
Cons
Horrible healthcare benefits, it is confusing, because it is an HMO in the DMV and PPO outside. It is very basic
Vacation is accrued as if you were a federal employee with no experience so you don't earn much.
I didn't know who I was actually work for/with
reach back from government to company
very political
no travel expense/reimbursement
when you need help you get bounced around with emails
no support system
