      Mission-driven employees can't make up for profit-driven leadership

      * Most positions are remote * Employees and line managers are deeply passionate about the mission

      Cons

      * Company leadership is terrible at communication and actively disinterested in improving * Leadership is focused solely on profit for investors * Investor focus means employee satisfaction is less than an afterthought * Leadership is incapable of planning beyond a month or so - there's no long term plan, only a long term goal ($$$) * Employees are disposable, and since there's no plan project teams are laid off wholesale with no thought to how many of those employees will be needed to keep things running * Favoritism is commonplace * Compensation is below market, and nobody in leadership seems to care * The company culture prizes hastily slapping something together that seems to work and moving on, then letting employees soak up tons and tons of after hours emergencies

We don’t believe that being profitable and our mission of being an online, sustainable grocery store are mutually exclusive. It’s necessary for us to become a profitable, self-sustaining company to reach a lot of our mission driven goals- however, our north star will always be to reduce food waste (and to do it with an awesome team in place!).       Worst Company to Work For

      Pros

      Flexible schedule (in HR dept), great direct supervisor, hybrid schedule, autonomy.

      Cons

      Terrible executive leadership and directors, people are just a number, there are very clearly favorites, and everyone is out for their own personal benefit. People left crying after most shifts and complaints were very rampant. Backstabbing leadership.

      Misfits is not a good fit

      Pros

      Solid benefits and good company mission. Company has good direction as to where it wants to go

      Cons

      Leaders at the very top don't communicate effectively or seem to care about those at the bottom. Lots of micromanagement from the top down and the mid-level leaders are bombarded with work while not being given the proper resources or support to achieve their tasks/responsibilities.
