Pros

The beauty of the Western NC mountains

Cons

Have worked there almost 3 years without a single raise. Atmosphere of fear and intimidation about losing your job. Was promised benefits would not be lost and now have lost our health incentive and there is rumors of our PTO being taken. Short staffed and having to work harder with the same salary. Insurance really stinks. The cost of living in Asheville rivals some areas in CA.

Appreciate the candor. As a nursing leader, we encourage you to bring this up to your manager and with Nursing leadership. Great point about CNAs, and we actually have just raised the minimum for CNAs to $12.50 per hour in an effort to recruit and retain valuable team members. Thanks for your feedback!

Pros

My co-workers, the Doctors, the patients

Cons

Upper management really does not care about the workers in the trenches. It is all about the bottom dollar, even over patient safety.

Thank you for your feedback and for your service to Mission's patients and families for the last decade. We agree that the team/ work family at Mission makes this a great place to work and practice. I do feel, in addition, that patient safety is at the forefront of Mission's goals and responsibility to our community. As a recipient of Truven's Top 15 Health Systems in the nation (for a remarkable 5th time), acheivement in clincial perfomance and patient satisfaction was a critical component of consideration. Mortality rates at the top-performing systems were 13.4% lower than their peers and complication rates were 8.5% lower. The average length of stay was 10.2% shorter and wait times in the emergency department were 17.5% shorter compared with the benchmark. Mission Health has consistently outperformed other local, regional and national providers by saving more lives and causing fewer complications, following industry-recommended standards of care more closely, making fewer patient safety errors and scoring better on overall patient satisfaction.
