Pros

Ok staffing ratios, great staff, excellent facilities and equipment

Cons

Mid to upper management is terrible. They are completely the opposite of what healthcare management should be. They are not supportive and only care about throughput and customer satisfaction. They treat staff as if we are disposable and easily replaceable.

Thanks for your responses, which are concerning. Have you reached out to HR or your leader to provide this feedback? There are several forums available (including Nursing Shared Governance Councils, Great Place to Work and Practice Meetings, etc. ) at Mission to share constructive feedback, and we certainly encourage you to do so. If you need assistance to learn more, contact HRDC at: HRDirectConnect.Mailbox@msj.org or call 828.213.5600.

Western Carlolina isa beautiful place to live

Cons

Overbearing upper and middle management who are out of touch with the trenches. Pushing VERY hard to see the maximum number of patients in primary care. No balance for work/family life. Very uncomfortable setting and worsening quickly!! Ironically, Very greedy place to work for a not for profit

Pros

None Currently. Nope. Don't bother. Many other places in the country to live and work. Asheville is nice but so are lots of other places.

Cons

Top heavy management. Rampant cronyism especially in administration at all levels. Self insured, so employees left without choice of practitioners to use for their own healthcare. Poor benefits in terms of salary or hourly pay.401K matching is bare minimum after 1 year of employment. High turnover.Increasing use of traveler/locums personnel. Upper administration known for autocratic style and unwillingness to negotiate. Expectation of unreasonable amount of availability/on call obligation.

Thanks for your input. As a long time employee of Mission, we appreciate the work you contributed for your 10+ years. Perhaps the offerings were different then, but currently Mission provides excellent benefits, which can be found online at: http://missionandme.mission-health.org/total-rewards/. We have almost eliminated our Traveler staff, and are dedicated to being a Great Place to Work and Practice, a designation we were honored to receive recently!
