Not Progressive or Fast Moving

Pros

Compensation is OK, about the best I can say.

Cons

In response to a previous review, this company is not "progressive" or "fast-moving". We are constantly behind our competitors and can't get out of our own way to catch up or try to do anything better. Way too much favoritism shown towards those who have been here the longest even if they have no track record.

Pros

Only the benefits and the fact that it is a new facility are the only desireable traits.

Cons

Experience has no influence and can not override less experienced individuals in management roles and members of the “good ole boys”. Most of whom are simply arrogant and self serving.

Pros

Mitsubishi Electric offers great benefits that are near impossible to find elsewhere. The company offers great opportunities to move into a completely different discipline regardless of qualifications. For example, if you are an administrative assistant, but have an interest in marketing, then it is possible even though you possess no qualifications. Short of stealing money or physically/verbally assaulting someone, an employee is free from fear of termination. If you decide this is not the opportunity for you and decide to leave for gender pastures, then fear not; the company will gladly welcome you back with open arms no matter how many times you leave.

Cons

Mitsubishi Electric is a difficult place for the overachiever. New insights, ideas, and process improvements are not welcomed. There is a complete lack of communication between departments as well as from management. It started out as American run, but Japanese owned. The Japanese came in, like an invasion, cared nothing of the American people, culture, or business practices. They speak Japanese constantly, are condescending towards non-Japanese, and do not include American leadership in any of the decisions and only mildly in the discussions. Their behavior can only be described as retribution for WW II. Management had no interest in developing employees. It is hard when they don't communicate with their employees. Promotions are only offered to the chosen few or those who make major screw-ups costing the company loads of money. I am confident that incompetence and being spineless are requirements to be a leader here.
