Once a great place to work- no longer

Pros

Mixmax used to be a place great to work with a great culture. You can work remotely. So many great coworkers here and many awesome smart people to work with. Product is solid although struggles to compete in crowded market since it's barely been improved the past years.

Cons

Mixmax has been doing very poor the past year and the company has struggled to retain and bring on new clients. This has led to layoffs and random firings across the team from senior leadership in sales and marketing as well to top performing individual contributors randomly being fired without any notice despite performing at a high level. The new management will lie to the team about what is happening and then fire people out of the blue in very manipulative ways. Despite the reduction in head count the team is not hitting any of their numbers and the company is struggling to compete in the sales engagement space. Mixmax was once a great place to work and is now simply a very poor place to work where you will not make any money. (And they are changing targets and comp plan numbers to find ways to pay you less ) A few years ago Mixmax was a great place to work and worth of the high Glassdoor reviews, now you should avoid the company at all costs. Morale is dropping the people who are there are looking to leave. It's okay for a business to have to layoff part of their workforce, it's part of business but go about it in a classy way. The old Mixmax would have handles it correctly and let the whole team know the truth. The new leadership will gaslight the team about what is happening. Years ago Mixmax was the best, today you should avoid at all costs.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience at Mixmax did not reflect the values and culture we aim to uphold. We deeply appreciate the contributions of everyone who has been part of our journey, especially those who care enough to speak up. While we understand how difficult and emotional organizational changes can be, we want to clarify that recent departures have been based on performance considerations, not random decisions or reductions in force. These decisions are never easy and are made with careful thought and respect for the individuals involved. Transparency and fairness are important to us, and we continue working to communicate as openly as possible with the team. We are proud of the people at Mixmax, both past and present, and remain committed to building a culture of trust, accountability, and growth. We sincerely wish you the best in your next chapter and thank you again for your time with us.

Pros

Mixmax is a place of trust. We have a transparent culture that shares everything and doesn't keep secrets from the team. We are growing, delivering a strong product, and competing in a very competitive space. (Its not boring here!) Each team member is expected to deliver and also bring a positive attitude to work. We are trusted to work when and where we work best. Its a modern workplace that feels good to contribute to because it feels like we are all in it together. Everyone is given chances to be a leader and give feedback. Good compensation, good people, good events, WFH internet is paid for, stock options, company-sponsored gatherings, swag, and prizes. What else could you ask for?

Cons

Its a lean team - there will be a lot on your plate. If this causes you stress it might make you feel uneasy. I have at times. Being so distributed timezones make it hard to connect with the people you need and when its an urgent request it can feel like a limitation to getting work done.
