Imagine Every EMS Stereotype…

Pros

The possibility for unlimited overtime. After all it’s only 355 days until Christmas. Polo work shirts. Which are provided at no charge.

Cons

Supervisors (mainly night shift) act of work is high school. Supervisors (again nights) have sexual relationships with employees under their charge. These employees are untouchable due to these relationships. Nepotism in general runs rampant as several employees with family in management are given favoritism regardless of work ethic. Pay is far below regional competition even after multiple company wide pay scale increases. Insurance benefits were reduced as of 01/01/23.

Great place to work

Pros

Yearly pay increase including cost of living increase. Yearly dividend bonus. Education reimbursement for certifications and classes. Competitive pay. In Genesee County we are a 911 service and don't run transfers which is why we get into ems in the first place. Power cots and power loaders which take stress off the back and helps prevent back injuries.Great relaxed place to work. They will work with your schedule. 30 minutes before the end of yojr shift you get to call out of service to head back to base and get out on your scheduled time.

Cons

Rigs have issues just like every other company. Can get pulled into saginaw to cover their slack and pick up a max of 3 transfers. You can catch a 911 call in Saginaw county after done with transfers while trying to head back to Genesee County. Bases are far from hospitals so if you get held over from a late call it takes time to get back to head quarters. Bases are run down, dirt, highly damaged from vehicles hitting the garage doors.
