      Fulfilling purpose during the pandemic.

      Toxic culture and favoritism all the way from the top. 12 brainwashing mindsets in which not a single one is dedicated to employee wellbeing, so they throw all sorts of free mental health counselling and meditation apps to keep you burning the midnight oil and to stop you from asking for help. Definitely not a place for work life balance. Burnout is very real here. Not one bit of recognition or thanks if you go out of your way, it is only expected of you. Senior management in complete denial of countries moving on from the pandemic. Over recruiting and irresponsible use of money spent on lavish events, meetings at expensive hotels, business class flights, and hiring of big teams that do not drive any value. Management has no patience to listen to the challenges or see the strategy through. Definitely not a safe environment to bring up new ideas. Moderna claims to be nimble, but they are not so with their lack of decision making and the layers of hierarchy to get anything decided on. Good ideas get killed in the process. Functions work in silos and operating teams are kept in the dark on process changes and decisions. When asked about certain operating questions, no one replies back. You just have to operate on the fly and hope for the best. Many leaders are only interested in themselves, and not working for the company or the mission. Definitely not a very human company, despite having a mission to save patient lives.

      "moderna is not for everyone"

      benefits are great, pay is very good.

      tenure at this company is low, people leave or get fired in about 1 and a half years. the mgmt. team is insanely unrealistic. They say things like be bold, collaborative, curious and relentless but those words and the moderna mindsets have been twisted to mean, it's ok to have unrealistic expectations, which leads to very childish behavior from leaders. the lack of professionalism is stunning! They hire people with large scale experience, because they need it, but then don't want to do the things necessary to scale, build and develop the organization. It's a real head scratcher... The company has so much money from Covid that they can buy their way out of just about any problem so they don't really care about you. People are NOT a priority in this company. It's ironic that a company dedicated to saving lives is ruining the lives of their employees.

      The Company is a Mess

      Pros

      The only Pro this company has is the vacation time away from the company. 2 weeks off for winter, on top of your vacation time already. They celebrate almost every holiday.

      Cons

      Believe all of the negative reviews you see about this company because they are absolutely true. I highly advise that people stay away from this company (especially scientists). There is no such thing as team work and upper management is a mess. Executives are highly focused on themselves. They call Moderna a "family" but its fake. They work their employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and their turnover rate is extremely high. You see about 25+ employees start at the beginning of the month and by the end, half have been fired and/or quit. Its not even worth getting to know some of the new hires because you know they will be gone sooner rather than later. The company seems exciting to work for in the beginning until you realize how much you do for the company and how little they appreciate it. Employees work all of the time, and there is no reward for your efforts. There is hardly any growth within the company and there are no boundaries. Employee's are greedy, rude, and focus on themselves. There is no real teamwork which is sad to see. Don't ever think that HR is there to support you, they don't enforce any rules...for anyone. They are just there to pretend like they know what they are doing. Its a rat race over there and you will not get far. You will end up leaving wondering why you even wanted to work there in the first place. There is no morale, no protocols and no respect for anyoone.
