Cons

No incentives/stagnant, expect 2-3 yrs for promotion out of entry level role Heavy impression management, many people (20+) reporting to same manager = manager has little insight into your work and inaccurate impression of group dynamics Overwhelmingly 'extrinsically' motivated. No one GAF about science or building genuine relationships. Everyone just wants to climb the ladder as fast as possible. People will go to a social not because they actually want to be social but because they want to make sure the manager sees them... 'being social' Favoritism and preference for certain race is obvious
