Pros

Good health insurance benefits, 401k matching, generous PTO for salaried employees

Cons

Poor work/life balance, everything is treated like a trade secret or tribal knowledge, no private work spaces, everyone from senior management to the most junior employee is 2-faced and will stab you in the back or use you to make themselves look good

Pros

1. Cutting-Edge Science & Technology Known for rapid innovation, especially in mRNA therapeutics. Employees work on first-in-class and high-impact products. Strong emphasis on R&D and computational modeling. 2. Mission-Driven Culture High sense of purpose, especially post-COVID vaccine development. Opportunities to contribute to public health breakthroughs. 3. Competitive Compensation Generally offers strong salaries, stock options, and bonuses. Good 401(k) matching and performance incentives.

Cons

1. High Intensity & Fast Pace Can be demanding with long hours and aggressive timelines. "Always-on" culture is not ideal for everyone. 2. Frequent Strategic Shifts Pipeline re-prioritizations and program cancellations (e.g., VX-264) can cause instability or layoffs. Roles may evolve rapidly without clear long-term structure. 3. Growing Pains As a still-young commercial company, it sometimes lacks clear processes and suffers from scaling challenges. Some growing friction between start-up agility and big pharma bureaucracy. 4. Work-Life Balance Varies Highly team- and role-dependent. Some teams have better balance than others. Can be challenging in functions tied to clinical timelines or regulatory deliverables. 5. Organizational Silos Despite cross-functional goals, occasional silos or misalignment between functional leads can hinder execution.
