-Senior level managers have never managed people before and don’t know how to -Super toxic environment means rapid employee turnover -Senior leadership wants to force mRNA to work across the board- trying to fit a square peg into a round hole -No work life balance. Expectation to be on call at all times -Leadership is notorious for “PIP” ing people out of their roles. Will give them impossible/unreasonable expectations in the PIP to force them out. -High level leaders frequently escorted out/asked to leave, leaving large gaps. -Company is overly involved in personal lives of employees -Minimal Diversity. There are almost no black people in the Cambridge office. -Though they make vaccines, moderna is not a public health company.

No work-life balance. Worked over 12-14 hours a day multiple times with no recognition by senior leadership. Low morale and if you want your voice to be heard, this is not a good place to work for. Favoritism exists in certain departments and leadership. Hardworking and deserving folks don't get promoted often times and lots of politics when it comes to promotions and bonuses. Management won't let you get promoted within the department or move to a different department (actively stopping people from moving to different departments) so once you're stuck here, either you have to deal with it or you just quit.
