Pros
- Clients are great. They are generally very appreciative of your work - You get to work with a wide variety of clients. It is not always easy to assist them with their needs, but it is rewarding once you are able to successfully link them to a service they have been asking for. - Work is manageable when not understaffed - Secured building which is locked after hours and you are required to be buzzed in during the day - Supervisor was very knowledgeable, caring and helpful - You are required to have supervision with your supervisor every month. If you need it, they will accommodate you with more supervision during the month - Online programs used for case notes was efficient and easy to use - A lot of good trainings are offered through the company - Many vehicles to use to transport clients, most of which are new but same make and model
Cons
- Clients can be very emotionally draining at times, especially if there are multiple clients with similar diagnoses on your case. - You are given 9hrs per pay period of PTO, however when there is a holiday, you are expected to use this time, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. - When there is a holiday, such as Columbus Day or Labor Day, it is almost expected that you come into the office to continue working. There is often a lot of paperwork that needs to be done, but if you are overloaded with work, a lot of other employees come into the office to complete it on holidays, even if the office is "closed". - Difficult clients are not distributed onto multiple care managers caseloads very well. Sometimes you get all the easy ones, sometimes you get all the difficult ones. - You have to walk a block from where you park to get to the main building, past a bus stop and park where people often hang around - To be completely honest, I did not feel welcomed at this job from my very first day there. I continuously gave it a chance, but I often went home feeling discouraged. Many times, I felt as though I were purposely left out of conversations and talked about behind my back by my teammates. When other new employees came on to the "team", they felt the same. - When I began, I would describe the other members of my team as a clique. - I did not feel as though I were on a "team". We all worked very independently. - The pay is okay, but not worth the drama and emotional stress
