Pros

Interesting work and products that help advance medicine, protein, and cellular-based science. Nice people to work with for the most part. Annual performance reviews help you know your standing. Regular employee social events helped with morale and team bonding.

Cons

Average employee benefits. Territorial office politics was disruptive and business priorities made by L1 executives changed frequently. Seemed discriminatory against paying SF Bay Area wages. Most layoffs over the years primarily impacted the Silicon Valley office. If you're willing to get underpaid compared to competitors, they'll keep you, otherwise watch out. Good performance reviews and company loyalty won't save you when some director is told to reduce their department costs.
