"Education Brands, Ministry Brands, andCommunity Brands--BYE BYE! "

Pros

-Complimentary obfuscation and gas lighting about your job responsibilities v. compensation. -Adrenaline pumping action; will your branch office be open or closed next Monday morning!? Will there be another crippling round of layoffs? Will they sunset the entirety of your brand's software with little to no analysis? WHO KNOWS! It's so very exciting to wait and find out. -MORE work, LESS resources. A winning combination to be sure. -15 or more minutes of the Self-Aggrandizing CEO talk about himself during All-Company meetings as a prelude to telling you the company won't back-fill lost resources, pay reasonable salary, fix thieving benefits packages, or broken maternity leave policies. Just kidding there aren't any pros to working for this company. Make sure you read the reviews on both Ministry and Education Brands glassdoor sites to give you a more comprehensive picture of this disaster rather than this sterilized re-branded space.

Cons

Seriously though, people who once loved their jobs at smaller companies pre-Community Brands-acquisition now live in a constant state of dread. We're down to the last of kind; or entirely devoid of many resources (Data Base Architects, .NET developers, Reports Developers, UX/UI, Project Managers, Support Agents, Business Analysts, Implementation Specialists...) being told to make do with nothing. Warned not to complain; not to ask for better pay lest they too get the axe.

DO NOT WORK HERE

Pros

You learn how to multitask from being so badly overworked and taking on multiple positions duties.

Cons

This company and the management are terrible. The second they bought our company, things went downhill. There have been MULTIPLE mass-layoffs with no notice and no reason provided. They do not care about anyone working for them. They lay you off as soon as they are done using you. They don't try to retain employees or customers, but constantly talk about how sales are down. There is no clear strategy for promotions or raises. You may get a raise after a year, you may not. Nobody ever knows. The benefits are terrible too, except Unlimited PTO, but you can't even use this often because of how much work is on your plate. Find a company that actually cares about you and your future. Don't waste your time here. They will use you until you have nothing left to give, then fire you anyway.

Pros

Not starving to death. Having insurance. Remote work, but that's been threatened.

Cons

-Staff underpaid by market standards, but gaslighting to indicate otherwise -Culture of fear around talking about money or stepping out of line -Company claims they have no money for raises, then posts record earnings -There's "no money for continuing education" but new companies are acquired, often without warning -Lip service to DEI with no resources to back it up. Seeing a pattern yet? -Staff laid off and no backfills, so remaining people are expected to pick up the slack -Management is on a revolving door, so there's no institutional memory and no progress on any improvements -Penny-wise and pound-foolish sales strategies that border on fraudulent. Sales encouraged to close a deal even if it means stretching the truth about what can actually be done. -Departments are pitted against each other so nobody looks upward
