Pros

At first hire, I was surrounded by some really smart people. Without them, my “onboarding” would have been impossible.

Cons

“Onboarding” consists of being told to read a bunch of outdated documents filled with broken links. Low pay, laughable yearly increases, extremely expensive benefits, company dropped the 401k match “because of the pandemic” and the last 2 quarterly meetings declared we were doing great (but ooops! no time for questions!) but no mention of reinstating this benefit. High turnover at the upper management and C-level. Completely focused on sales and acquisitions with no support for overworked services employees. Sales will sell to companies who don’t really stand to benefit from our services, unhappy customers are given tons of work for free, and services team takes the hit for having low billable hours (because management promised them free work). Complete failure to backfill and/or retain existing employees. Company is hemorrhaging good people and has no real plans to prevent further attrition. This company is a Dilbert level nightmare of useless circular discussions, narcissistic management and embarrassing business practices. Avoid at all costs.

I’m really sorry that this was your experience. We also saw the issues with the outdated training. I’m not sure of the timing of your experience but we’ll take the action to check in with the team and make sure the concerns you had have been updated. The 401K match was reinstated on January 1, 2021 with an increase in the match amount for most people. We also brought in a new 401k partner to operate the plan that would give everyone more choices with lower fees. I’m sorry that you did not see the announcements. You are correct that we made changes in upper management when it wasn’t a great fit. Some of those changes included bringing in sales leaders that make sure we can deliver on our commitments. Based on your comments, you were probably working on projects that were sold prior to this leadership team, so I understand where you saw some projects that were a stretch. Bluntly, that’s why you saw changes in leadership as well as making sure that the leaders you work with on a day-to-day basis recognize how important each person is and reflects that in how they lead – from career development to prioritizing hiring as we grow and building strong onboarding programs. Pros

Transformation is happening throughout the business world. And we see it at Community Brands too. The company is bringing new solutions to market that are truly transforming the way purpose-driven organizations achieve their missions. At the same time, the company itself has undergone an exciting transformation and continues to evolve. Community Brands is both young and well-established. It is made up of teams and organizations that have been serving associations, nonprofits, schools, and faith-based organizations for decades, but the company transformed in recent years with growth coming from new products and acquisitions. Over 2,700 employees now serve over 100,000 customers, with both revenues and office locations also rapidly growing. It’s been a very dynamic, rewarding experience. But the best part of all is seeing what a difference we have made for our customers, organizations that are vital to the communities in which we live and work. As the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and People Operations, I want to provide this note with some additional insight into the company’s journey. All good outcomes and anything worth achieving required hard work and perseverance, and for Community Brands, this transformation have led to both. I see a variety of comments within Glass Door, and it is understandable that this process will both generate excitement as well as frustration for employees. Change is not always easy, but it is motivating to see where the company is today and the impact we are making in the world. Employees have been and will continue to be at the heart of the company’s future. Many new programs have rolled out within the past couple of months, and others will continue to roll out – all focused on creating a rewarding and engaging experience for employees. I am proud of the transformation work we have done in the industry, for our customers, and within the company. Whether you’re thinking about joining Community Brands, or are a current or former employee, know that the company has a strong culture and a bright future. Our employees pride themselves on being techies and volunteers who are driven by purpose and who love to make a difference. If that is your passion too, I invite you to connect with us and learn more! There are lots of great opportunities to grow your career and make a difference at the same time.

Cons

We don't have enough time in a day. We're excited and anxious to see out future.

Pros

Community Brands is a collection of previously independent technology companies serving different vertical industries, which include associations, non-profits, k-12 private schools and faith based organizations (churches, synagogues, etc). The companies have come together through mergers and acquisition, which is never an easy process. Having said that, employees that began working with a small company in the past, now have access to an eco-system of opportunities across a much larger organization. I have seen dozens of my colleagues move on from roles with limited growth potential, to new parts of the company that created upward mobility. People care a lot about what they do, which I think is an offshoot of serving the customers we serve (i.e. supporting non-profits, etc.). The company's benefits are reasonable (health, 401-k match, PTO). In the part of the business where I work, I see a lot of passion for the customers, and hard work to make them successful. We have very little employee attrition and a good culture in the office where people care about one another. We have a broad range of technology products and services, and are benefiting as a company from the ability to now provide more than 1 product to our very large universe of customers. Community Brands provides a lot of good jobs to a lot of good people.

Cons

As mentioned before, a lot of smaller companies have come together to form Community Brands. As a result some of the independent cultures of some of the smaller companies have gotten weaker. This has also created change. Some processes have gotten more formal. Some expectations have gotten higher. This type of environment is not for everyone. If you fear change, or you want a job where the requirements are always the same, you might not like it here. But if you don't mind challenges and want interesting work, this might be a good fit.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We have brought many companies in to the Community Brands portfolio in the last couple of years. This does create opportunity for talent to relocate and grow their careers with us. This is also an opportune time to make an impact, build process, and be exposed to new experiences as a change agent.
