Recruiters Beware

Pros

Steady paycheck and paid holidays (7 I believe)?

Cons

This was my 6 month experience. The day in a life of a recruiter at Momentum. Recruiting strategy changes every two weeks with a new region. Then, recruiters are questioned as to why they are not having 10-15 hires per week after changing said Region within 3 days. If recruiters do manage to get someone on the phone ready to listen to the 20 minute sales pitch which upper management deems mandatory to use --- then, write a dissertation as to why a candidate is the best. Then, schedule the candidate with the hiring team which may or may not show up for the interview. Upper management micro-manages x10. The recruiting environment is more like high-pressured sales than what one would expect from other companies. Recruiting here is "high pressure" coercion to get interviews scheduled. If not, recruiters are reminded daily of production and the pressure of losing their jobs. Never mind the fact that recruiters lose momentum from previous markets to start grassroots in another after two weeks. Oh, another thing. Constant meetings. Meetings on top of meetings. Plus, recruiters not only have to baby sit full life-cycle recruiting but also, must deal with moving training dates. A lot of times, these new hires will not start for another 3 weeks!! The fallout is enormous and recruiters are held accountable for these instances. From cradle to grave, recruiters touch each candidate at least 15 times and remember to onboard, and 10 people a week are required! That's 150 touch points ON TOP OF daily calls of 25 people a day.

Pros

Great training prior to entering the field.

Cons

No work/life balance. The expected schedule is 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. This is unsustainable and most specialist don’t last long enough to ever see install commissions. This company will do all they can to keep from paying you out, yet promise you the American dream as far as pay goes.
