      Good work life balance, generally chill coworkers

      Cons

      I've worked many years at this company and I can say that this company once had a good culture. Not sure when it went downhill but definitely seeing a lot of my friends within the last year because of bad managers or uninteresting work at this company. Managers used to be really good. Behavioral interviews was an emphasis and I can't say that's the case anymore. It can be hit or miss and if you're unlucky with a bad one then your experience can be terrible.

      Stock has done great and that's a good perk.

      Cons

      where to start, they micromanage every sales rep, the first line managers that were in place did nothing to advance your career and were down right detrimental to your growth in sales!

We have designed a specific ratio of sales reps to managers (5:1 in Enterprise) to best support employees on all aspects of the sales cycle, as well as to ensure that managers can devote the necessary time to train and coach each of their reps so that they can continue to grow and develop their careers. Our BDR to CRO initiative outlines the many career paths and development opportunities within our Sales organization and provides defined upskill programs and trainings to help individuals achieve their career goals.       Ok perks, poor management and team dynamics

      Pros

      MongoDB has some great perks, including a beautiful NYC office and paid lunch, which is a standout benefit. The company offers decent insurance and stock options, and the Customer Success (CS) team culture is generally supportive and collaborative among peers. The product itself is great and well respected amongst the developer community.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, first-line management in the CS team is inexperienced and often creates a psychologically unsafe environment by focusing on assigning blame rather than solving problems. The job itself, while not particularly challenging, involves a lot of busywork to cater to sales requests that often fall outside of the role’s scope. Team dynamics are further strained by frequent conflicts with solution architects over credit for leads, leaving the CS team out of payouts too often. They tend to hire externally instead of focusing on developing the current talent. Lots of attrition across teams right now on CS. While the overall benefits are decent, the lack of a 401k match is disappointing. Ultimately, these issues, especially with management, make it difficult to recommend MongoDB as a workplace.
