Pros
I’m happy to share that I’m moving into a new position here at MongoDB as the AVP of the North Central region. It has been an incredible 4.5 years at MongoDB helping clients transform their business through using our technology. More importantly though, I have made lifelong friends and learned more about selling software than all my previous years combined. I have been able to be a part of promoting people that I care deeply for and watch them exceed expectations over and over again. To get to this point there needs to be a team of people who also get promoted and move their career from sales rep to RD to RVP. This team that we have here right now humbles me every day knowing that we are accomplishing our goals together. MongoDB has given me the opportunity to learn about leadership and take some raw talent, general love for coaching and a great deal of empathy to lead a great team. MongoDB gives me the tools that empower me to be a better leader and more importantly a better human. That is something that I am truly thankful for and something that I share with my three daughters. They need to know that you do not need to compromise when choosing a workplace. You will be frustrated at times but if that company is meeting or exceeding your criteria you are doing the right thing.
Cons
Rapid growth is always challenging and we see challenges that are typical to high growth. Making sure we preserve the culture that is key to our success is always top of mind but at times can be challenging to make sure that it is a priority up and down the organization. The good thing is that we have eyes on it and correct the issues as they present themselves.
