Pros

It used to be so tight knit, well managed and employees were so happy in Dublin, Ireland. The list of pros was endless - it’s hard to actually think of anything now except the kindness and support of the people still working who haven’t left since everything changed.

Cons

It’s absolutely soulless and not the same place since Firewood in Ireland were acquired by Media Monks and also since we began working remotely because of COVID. At least before the acquisition management still pushed a bit for some social engagement but it’s just so soul crushing now. We have been busier than ever, business is good but performance reviews, bonuses, salary increases and anything at all related to your employment or performance haven’t been touched since before September 2021. We were promised performance reviews constantly and we don’t get them. They even cancelled our small top performer voucher prizes recently without even replacing the initiative - it’s feeling like austerity measures at this stage.

Pros

Best in class when it comes to datadriven conversations and projects. I learned a lot during my time.

Cons

Management did not really know what they were doing in terms of managing teams. Smart people in general but the lack of leadership was noticable. There is no such thing as work life balance. Forget trying to finish your work day in time and meet up with friends. There is of course always something to do (which applies to many jobs) but there is no understanding that it's impossible to be available all the time. The expectation of putting work first is insane. Covid put so much pressure on the teams. I don't think anyone actually feels well.
