Nurses just recently got a good contract with a pay increase that matches inflation and ensures accountability for over whelming the nurse with patient ratios, but this was a union fight.

Cons

- Limited resources. Montefiore is cheap. An attending was told to buy her own hand sanitizer. - No flexibility for NPs. Attendings and some ancillary staff are allowed to WFH, NPs are not. - We are over worked and not compensated for overbooking patients. - No OT for nurses unless you work a full shift on a day you’re not typically scheduled to work, even though most schedules are M-F. - Very short staffed across multiple divisions and disciplines within the hospital. - Offices and work areas are not well maintained.

Volatile work environment, considering both job stability and culture. Basic values, such as respect, are difficult to find, especially because such values are not exhibited by leadership. Zero mobility available for promotion or pay increase - no matter the amount of time you’ve put in at the company or the increase in job responsibility you have taken on.
