Pros

Good PTO, benefits, colleagues. Reputable firm.

Cons

In this role, you will frequently interact with referral representatives whose honesty is questionable, alongside prospects who typically show little interest in engaging. Leadership within the Virtual Client environment have a consistent track record of dangling a carrot in front of you and then suddenly changing goal posts or making major changes. Promises of bonuses, promotions, etc. are common, but the criteria and timelines of these incentives frequently shift without warning leaving people feeling misled. During recruitment, expect assurances of compensation, bonuses, yet, these statements are rarely upheld after your hiring date, as the terms seem to change abruptly.

Pros

In GCM Leverage Finance Division, good community. Experienced EA manages the assistants, so understands our challenges and advocates well. Benefits are good.

Cons

No upward mobility. EAs are undervalued [other firms pay higher salaries] and increasingly overloaded. EA's are "siloed", reporting not to the group they support but to an EA Manager, which contributes to a disconnect with one's team. I would recommend MS to a friend with CAVEATS!!

Pros

You will meet a few high quality people

Cons

- Old framework (at least in my division) is used ... at the time I left, our version of Angular was 4 major versions behind (Angular 17 was live but tech team using 13 with no plans I was aware of to upgrade) - Management will not invest in any tech tools you ask for, so again, you may start to fall behind with your development skills - You will likely remain a contractor for FAR LONGER than other companies - our tech lead (an excellent developer) still had not been converted to FTE after 4+ years, and this was not uncommon with the people I spoke with (I was at 3+ yrs) - Even as a developer, you will have way too many meetings, many of which you will walk away from with the feeling that it was mostly/completely a waste of time - There were so many silo-ed layers of tech/codebase ownership that it sometimes was very challenging to complete tasks which required another team's help
