Pros

Comp for new hires is good

Cons

Exploitive. Saw empty promises made to staff at all levels -forced to make some myself. People treated as commodities without consideration for career. Retention rates abysmal especially among new hires. Lots of unimpressive 15-30 yr veterans demoralized, lowly paid and longing for the good ole days.

Pros

Coworkers are some of the closest people I still keep in touch with.

Cons

management structure is inadequate. Not a great place to start out in the Financial Advisor Training Program. Goals are extremely hard to meet. The firm expects you to be in your 3rd year of business in your 1st year.

Pros

Collaborative culture where employees from different groups are eager to help one another. It is not an "eat what you kill" place but rather more team-oriented.

Cons

Management aims to run a process-oriented firm while the infrastructure is dated and technology lagging peers like Goldman. They are focusing on cutting expenses (i.e. compensation) but they don't have the infrastructure in place to not have to rely on attracting top talent.
