• complete lack of training. the only information you get about how to successfully fulfill your role is through a series of zoom calls that last two weeks. i had coworkers encourage me to not attend the sessions because they are highly tailored to florida and are irrelevant to new york
• your role is highly dependent on which attorney's team you are joining; absolutely nothing is standard so good luck asking anyone sitting near you for help
• definite "frat bro" culture where recent grads from both undergrad and law school leave work to drink at the surrounding bars in seaport
• the bathrooms are constantly dirty and you will have to clean the toilet before using it
• pto/benefits are stuck in the dark ages. there is no reason that sick time and paid personal time should be put in the same pool
• a lot of the attorneys are extremely mediocre and have taken this job due to a lack of prospects. expect them to act above you in order to feel better about themselves
• the office culture is non existent. lots of cliques, mean girls, and subpar attorneys with inflated egos
• if you get paired with a bad team, you're basically stuck and if you try to switch to another department they will PIP you out quickly
• bonus structures will randomly change with a moments notice and are taxed at 50%. this will not be communicated with you unless you ask
