Pros

I absolutely love the residents!

Cons

Management is a nightmare! They will hire anyone just to have a warm body. This company says they stand for love, kindness, humility, etc. It should be hate, abuse, discrimination, etc. The amount of mistreatment towards employees is unbelievable! Management play favorites and hide behind the "Christian" mask. The work environment is extremely hostile. You can't go to anybody in management for help. There is constant bullying, name calling and all kinds of carrying on and management loves the drama. If you like to create drama, make people feel horrible about themselves, have no paid holidays, never having time off without being called names, and being fake everyday this is the job for you! If those things don't sound like a work environment you want to be in, run far and fast. If you're thinking of leaving a competitor for Morningstar, stay, trust me. You may think you have it all bad and Morningstar will offer all this warmth and light just to suck you dry and then kick you while you're down for fun. If you decide to go to work here anyway, be prepared to get an attorney. HR will only stand by the company and make you think you're crazy by gaslighting you into thinking you created the problem you are reporting. Even Home Office could care less about anything but their bottom line and looking "good" to the outside world. Save your soul and run!

Pros

NORMAL working hours are reasonable.. but everyone is pulling OT.

Cons

This company introduced me to its core values before I was hired, and I thought that would be a great career move the way they aligned. The location, its management, and the "support" we have received from regional/corporate does not honor these values at all! The squeaky wheel gets the oil, right? Not at this company; they'll ride you til the wheels fall off and it's only a matter of time.. There's not a drop of empathy to be found here.

This is deeply regrettable. We assure you: your introduction to the MorningStar brand and the core values you saw reflected in Ken and John during their visit is the aspiration of our entire team, the foundation on which we stands. It’s true we are challenged by the labor market like every industry across the nation. Would you be willing to speak with Melanie, our Regional VP of Operations in the home support office, that we might better understand your experience and make things right?

Pros

I loved the residents. I will truly miss talking to them everyday.

Cons

The Executive Director at MorningStar Idaho Falls is out of control. She demeans the staff and does not support a congenial working environment.

Thank you for your candor. We have, in fact, had a change in management at our Idaho Falls community. Servant-leadership and empowerment of our team is always paramount, knowing it’s the surest path to excellent resident care. At MorningStar, we are always open to hearing specifics on how we can improve and better support the heart of our home: front line team members. Please call the Home Office in Denver with any further suggestions.
