Poorly Run Company

Pros

- Mostly normal business hours (9-5 except for the odd time)

Cons

- TOXIC, POLITICAL AND NEGATIVE work culture with lack of cooperation within team members in a given group and between groups - Senior management is overpaid and lack basic management skills and industry knowledge, hence high employee turnover over the past few years - Lack of accountability in the company for not meeting deliverables and/or not complying with mandatory regulations

Internal fighting among MD's creates for a very unproductive work environment Senior management exerts condescending attitude and tone on subordinates Senior management does not know how to allocate money (i.e. spends money on office renovation instead of investing in better technology and IT infrastructure) Internal politics make promotions/raises an uphill battle Horrible pay and benefits

Love my manager, hate everything else

Pros

- my manager happens to be fantastic, but she's the anomaly - had hybrid BEFORE the pandemic (again, because my manager is great) - decent RRSP match - location is close to the subway

Cons

- All Toronto leadership is in their own little world, not affected by the problems the regular employees are going through - HR is incredibly unhelpful - Fight to try to get accommodations, very obvious they don't care about practising DEI, only giving lip service - Morningstar stock options don't make sense for non-American employees - Tech is garbage and infuriating - Work is repetitive and boring -Inflexible about return to office
