      Growing company with room to improve

      Pros

      I've had the opportunity to work on a highly skilled team that has challenged me, recognized my contribution and given me the chance to add value. It is a rapidly growing company which allows you to get a lot of exposure in your field. People are generally good to work with and knowledgable.

      Cons

      Siloed teams - however, your experience may vary based on who you work with. Competing cultures - Definitely a byproduct of the fast growth. You constantly come across people who have a very different vision of where the company is going. This also paves the way for more bureaucracy than is ideal.

      Everyone is really friendly and eager to help. Top management are down to earth and open door policy. Benefits are great!

      5 Years at DBRS

      Pros

      I have been at DBRS for 5 years and in that time I have been promoted and got the opportunity to take on a new and exciting role. One of the best things about working here is the opportunity for growth and development. Another reason why I've stayed with the company is the people I work with (both peers and management). Everyone is really supportive and eager to help each other out. Obviously a big part of working is getting paid and I can honestly say I have been pleasantly surprised at the pay increases and bonuses over the years, not to mention the benefits are really good also. DBRS makes an effort to host an annual summer and Christmas get together for all staff which is a great opportunity to bring everyone together and get to know other employees that you don't necessarily work with regularly. I also stand by DBRS's commitment to donate and give back to the Community. Management takes suggestions from staff and actively researches local initiatives to determine where donations are needed. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and I am excited to see where the next years take me as the company continues to grow.

      Cons

      We are pushing to grow which adds stress, but also learning opportunities. We launched into a new country this year and plan to continue to expand. We also recently completed an office renovation which focused on more collaborative, open-concept, work spaces. This is not the easiest thing to get used to, but it does open the door to the opportunity of working from home more often which is a really big plus.
