      Fun Place to Work but limited Upward Movement

      Pros

      Great work environment, nice people, diverse crowd from different backgrounds, countries etc. Tons of social activities and community service opportunities.. Can take a lot of vacation time and good health benefits...

      Cons

      Very lateral, thus no where to move up in career. Upper management is too young so no one is leaving the company because they have a lot of stock options which limits growth for middle management. Hardly any salary raises. Some departments are better than others but still no promotions are rare. You have to move departments or leave to get recognized.

      Pros

      The company gives you plenty of opportunities to do a good job and get what you want out of it. It is an excellent way to cut your teeth in the financial industry.

      Cons

      In spite of excellent profitability, management continues to elect not to increase employee pay, instead opting to buy new companies at pricey valuations. This neglect has led to a revolving door of talent which could threaten the firm's longevity.

      Good place for starting off your career

      Pros

      1) Laid back, have a lot of time to do what you want outside work 2) Management encourage people taking further education 3) Products are user-friendly and can be easily learnt

      Cons

      1) On the job training = Little training 2) Lack of sincerity while it comes to client facing 3) Rapid acquisition requires a longer time for each acquisition to fully integrate into the morningstar culture / products. 4) Relatively poorly paid jobs comparing to similar companies
