Pros
The work/life balance is great, however it isn't a factor of a company that cares about work/life balance. The work/life balance is great because the company culture is based on apathy and poor work ethic. There are a lot of friendly people here, however, in many cases they are too friendly and too nice. There just isn't much upside to this company at all.
Cons
This is the most unintelligible, disorganized mess I've ever been a part of. I don't know at what level management is breaking down (or more likely that it begins at the top and cascades all the way down.) , but there is no communication or accountability whatsoever. Planning of any kind, at any level, seems to be a foreign concept. The general skill set of technical employees is severely dated, and there is a complete indifference towards improvement and innovation. The general ignorance of important aspects of the industry is daunting, whether it be the result of being hired into a position that they weren't qualified for (even in management), or the result of 10-15 year of apathy and complacency that has allowed the ability to fail forward. There are no consequences for employees/managers who behave this way. They have a reputation for it but there is no discipline, no performance plans, no attempt to improve the situation in any way shape or form. In order to get anything done, you will end up having to take on tasks that reach several levels of management above your pay grade, because they either don't know how to do it, or they just don't get it done. I'm actually embarrassed to have been a part of this organization.
