Not Meeting Expectations

Pros

- good PTO and benefits - lots of resources provided to RDs (paid AND membership, CEUs, trainings, etc.)

Cons

- blanket policies/standards with no consideration for individual accounts - it is very difficult for single site RDs to take PTO - basic needs not being met (cleanliness of facility/work environment, not having office supplies, having to share desks, etc.) - not receiving adequate orientation (my personal experience - I understand that many others do get oriented to the company well)

Pros

Experienced position with lots of growth and learning

Cons

Constantly dealing with staff turnover, clients who refuse to budge on labor budgets, and thus as a director you spend well over half of your time doing hourly work (when you should be handling client issues and managing the account). Majority of accounts are considered "fixer uppers" due to poor management from previous director or team (it is a VERY common them in the industry), so constantly dealing with damage control.

Resources, people, benefits, training, compensation

Cons

Resources (lots of info, but can be difficult to find), Upper management likes to talk about balance, bit it can be hard to find. Upper management does not always communicate what's going on. Feeling like you are asked to more with less
