Mid level great, Senior Leadership is disconnected

Pros

You will never work around smarter people. I was surrounded by amazingly smart people that pushed my intellect.

Cons

The senior leaders spend more time jockeying for power than listening to employees. It seems like a Game of Thrones environment in that the mid level folks are pawns.

Pros

Lots of rhetoric about how important you are. Advice - do not believe it. They will work you to the bone.

Cons

Management will always nitpick - no matter what. This is done sometimes to minimize your bonus potential in order to give better pay and benefits to the favorite children of the group. Minneapolis might be the worst when it comes to cliquish awful work environments. Denver - a close second.
