Pros
- Lots of people really do care and are really excellent at what they do - Managers seem to generally actually keep their employees’ wellbeing in mind for the most part (at least in the CTO organization) - Work is interesting and there’s always more than enough to do - Lots of opportunity to make things happen if you put in the effort
Cons
- Take the mishmash of two different startups + legacy automotive Tier 1, add in an enormous amount of turnover, and a pinch of “this tech is so elusive and such a quagmire that even billions and billions of dollars can’t solve it short term” and you get an absolute cluster - Many of the people who attempt or attempted to bring legitimate structure and order to the place have since moved along to greener pastures - There has been a baffling history of making enormous investment in the oddest things. Sure the tools are great, but if the car doesn’t drive itself who cares?
