Pros

Remote position is nice. It is an interesting industry and DOES have growth opportunity

Cons

The culture is probably the worst I have ever seen. Co-workers are MEAN- they are only there for their own personal gain and will tear down each other in the drop of a hat. Managers have a hard time controlling their team as they are afraid of the backlash. The employees that have been there for awhile, use their seniority to throw others under the bus and get away with things. Its truly sad to see how horrible the culture was since the company does have a really good product and has a lot of potential. Onboarding is pointless. You better hope your team is willing to help you otherwise you are in for a rude awakening. Other teams are not collaborative- they don't want to work with you, they will not help you, and they feed off your failure. The HR department could really use some digging into. There are a lot of politics at play and they will turn a blind eye if they "favorite" someone. And on the flip side, they will absolutely ruin someone based off of hearsay without any proof of evidence.

Pros

The food was okay. Not sure if they still do that anymore

Cons

Dishonest management that reacts to situations without considering the consequences or consulting the empirical evidence. Company had a growth-at-all-costs attitude until the (ex-VC) CEO realized that that strategy was no longer en vogue among VCs, at which point he decided to pivot by firing a large fraction (>=50%) of the company's U.S. workforce. If you work at KT, know that you are not a valued employee; you are an expendable asset whose worth is determined solely by the particular project you've been assigned.

Pros

Had good perks- lunch, snacks, nooks&pillows, ping pong table Good health insurance Nice office/location Filled with smart people that are doing their best.

Cons

The substance is the problem. 1. Communication. "Transparency" is a value, but rarely practiced. Leaders' calendars are hidden, few people know what is happening outside their vertical, leaders obfuscate about how the company is doing and then "transparently" tell us why they made decisions after the fact. 2. HR is a mess. They recently got a new CPO, but he hasn't been able to make much change. There is rarely follow-up from HR, I've seen and heard of investigations being stalled for months, gotten wrong information on employment laws or company policies, and quite frankly, I am scared of retaliation for this post. 3. Image-obsessed. Notice most of my "pros" are the superficial things because the company wants to "show" they care about people. They focus on awards and perks, but I and many of my colleagues did not feel valued as people. 4. Zero focus on professional development, company-wide. 5. Recent lay-offs and pay cuts make me skeptical about the growth potential here.
