Pros

Hours and salary are better than competitors.

Cons

No onbaording process so you are left isolated and confused about expectations, job role, development etc I haven't found it friendly or welcoming. I know a friend who went through the recruitment process and was offered a role, but then 2 weeks later , the offer was taken away. Very weird.

Pros

None during my employment

Cons

This company will sell you the dream at interview (if you can call it an interview) gather your salary expectations AFTER the so called interview process then offer you a pittance more on the pretence of flexibility and career development. They offer access to neither of these things easily and will squeeze every hour of work they can get from you. They will tell you they are flexible and agile etc but the reality is the HR managers and senior management are so bent backwards they don't even know what agile or flexibility means. I've seen it first hand and it's basically a bunch of buzzwords they use at interview that is NOT reflected in the culture. Development plans are inconsistent at best and non-existent in general as are salary reviews. I actually have no idea how they go about reviewing your salary when they don't review performance. Its like picking a figure out of thin air (e.g a 1% increase despite exceeding objectives that were set) there's an undoubted plethora of discrimination, favouritism and just plain political mince in this company

Pros

Able to be involved in very challenging projects, some of which are large scale. Due to the global nature of the company, there are chances to work on overseas projects. Due to large nature of projects, deliverables often require inter-disciplinary coordination and Motts organisation is well positioned for such work. Staff are generally on the younger age group with seniors making up upper management. This results in a more vibrant office culture and a good mix of social and recreational activities open for anyone to participate. People are generally very good natured and helpful. Able to leave work at 5.30 without question if workload can be managed.

Cons

Lower annual remuneration compared to the job market average. Lack of structured training, often requiring staff to learn in their personal time after work hours. The over-dependence on time sheet in managing budgets, coupled with a tight project budget, give rise to poor quality work produced under impossible time lines. High turnover rate. Employee owned company often mentioned as an advantage to the company, however a good majority of the staff (under 12 years in the company) do not stand to have any monetary stake in the company.
