Really stressful role that won't look after you
Pros
When I started, the salary was good for a graduate. The team is expansive, and there are some talented people working both within and outside the direct team. If you tolerate the pain for long enough, some good opportunities may come your way.
Cons
There is no appreciation given for personal time, with employees of all grades working over hours, and some working weekends. There was/is mismanagement at the top of the team, and that feeds into the pressure on other workers. Elitism is rife within the team. Bid time is minimal, adding to the stress There is little appreciation given to team days, building a team culture, or supporting one another. Very dog-eat-dog. Some colleagues are just rude, with no appreciation for manners or work etiquette. Salary increases are rare and minimal. Redundancies at times felt like a major risk. It is implied that you should look elsewhere if you want a promotion or a pay rise. Training programmes are mostly useless, with too much of a focus on engineering parts of the firm.
