      Excellent benefits Some incredibly smart and mission-aligned individuals (usually not in power) Remote flexibility (though often a trap — out of sight, out of mind)

      Chronic restructuring driven by internal politics, not strategy Leadership hires based on loyalty or status, not merit No accountability at the top; zero performance management culture Real impact is neither defined nor tracked Posturing replaces execution; proximity to power matters more than skill Mission is weaponized for brand, not practiced internally Dishonest communication and culture of silence low trust, and disillusionment from employees are the norm

      Not what it used to be thanks to leadership

      Some of the smartest engineers I've ever worked with are here. Mostly friendly people

      Cons

      leadership has no clue what they're doing. They're running Mozilla like a for profit except it doesn't make any profit, and they have no incentives to do otherwise. Rolling layoffs for the past 2 years. They buy startups just to shutter them. They start and grow products and kill them off just as they've reached a tipping point. They miss easy layups like chrome moving to manifest v3 for extensions. Honestly it feels like they're just on the Titanic stuffing as much silverware into their pockets as they can at this point.
