Pros

You get some money every month.

Cons

- For stock options, they will never give you a legally binding document to sign or even see. There will be just one number written in your offer letter; that's all you get. Go ahead, ask for a full legal document before joining or ask leadership now if you're still in Mujin. Even directors with vested options left empty-handed. Once the first ones did, now all are leaving, including the co-founder. - We have lost count of how many C-levels, Directors, Senior Project Managers, and Software Engineers have left. Very high turnover rate. I think we lost 40% of our people in 2025. - You will not be treated with respect. Expect extremely long working hours, including weekends. - Sudden "promotion" as your boss just quit. You will get some peanuts for the title change. If you decline, you are not a team player anymore.

Pros

Learning opportunities and nice colleagues.

Cons

Audacity to commit to a startup culture, but somehow still manages to be slower than big corps. Mediocre Management (both technical and non-tech). Extremely controlling environment at the cost of declining progress.

Pros

- Good opportunity to see a company with good appearance has darkness inside

Cons

The company will prepare lots of things in advance, before they decide to remove/dismiss an employee. They will downplay and under-evaluate your performance in two consecutive performance evaluations, and then put you in the "Performance Improvement Plan", and then finally for another 6 months, kick you out. In America such practice might seem legal, but in Japan such wrongful termination should be 99.9% illegal. Be sure to consult an employment lawyer, when such unfortunate things happen to occur to you. Also try best to collect evidence and materials to protect yourself, when you are at work. Because if Mujin does not want you, they will collect everything and do everything against you. Stay prepared! Good luck!
