      Inpatient Behavioral Health management needs to change ASAP!

      Pros

      Multicare has great values of Kindness, Collaboration, Stewardship, Integrity, and Respect. Nurses, CNA, and professional staff who provide direct patient care are kind, compassionate, and doing their best to collaborate & provide excellent care. Patients are wonderful to work with. Housekeeping staff is super.

      Cons

      Staff turn over is high. Morale is low. Micromanagement & fear-based management style, which is NOT in alignment with Multicare values. Favoritism. Minimal opportunities & support for professional growth & development. No attention to "caring for the caregiver." Lack of resources to provide quality patient care. Poor budgeting of finances.

      Without knowing more about your specific experiences, it’s hard to comment directly on your feedback on management. However, we would agree that managers need to model our values and be held accountable when their behaviors do not reflect those values.

      Good pay and a large system.

      Cons

      Job instability. "Work until the work is done." Takes advantage of salary employees. No work life balance.

      Sometimes employees need to go “above and beyond” to deliver excellent patient care or to support those who do. “Exempt” jobs vary in their demands, and sometimes require more than a standard 8-hour work day.

      There are great opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge. Pay is competitive and fair compared to other organizations of similar size and type.

      Cons

      There are a high number of changes often poorly implemented. It is sometimes difficult to know where the organization is going at any given time.
