Toxic Leadership who Traumatize Employees
Pros
Good Cafeteria food options and good options for coffee. The clinical staff are Amazing at what they do, especially at Tacoma General and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.
Cons
I had a toxic leader who was clearly prejudiced against me from the start. Even though they rarely observed me performing my job and I was the highest performer on the team, they repeatedly found trivial things to write me up for. I received little orientation and support while performing in a highly stressful and high-profile role. They pretended to be kind while actively working to destroy my reputation and future career prospects with MultiCare. They were narcissistic, didn't listen, too politically correct, out of touch, and weaponized the "MultiCare values" to accuse me of not performing to their constantly changing expectations. While I was getting written up for a ridiculous assertion by my manager, they bragged that they had "written up over 40 employees" in their last 15 years of leadership. When I asked how many had grown through the process and gone on to stay with MultiCare, I was told "0". HR will never side with you. They are only there to protect their poor leaders and keep Multicare from getting sued. Once a leader at MultiCare decides you don't fit their strict mold, they will mercilessly work to destroy you. Additionally, Multicare has a horrible retirement plan. It takes forever to receive the employer contribution (typically in March), causing you to miss out on potential gains. It takes over a year to be eligible, then three years before vesting. I loved the work I was doing but had to leave due to a toxic leader.
