Thoughtful Leadership and Inspiring Mission!

Pros

Mutiny is on a (stable) rocketship! Being a startup during a macro-economic downturn is challenging, but our leaders are very intentional with every decision in regards to growing and our customers and employees are at the core of those decisions. There is an immense amount of psychological safety amongst different teams and employees are encouraged to "stir the pot" (one of our values) regardless of your level or tenure. It's exciting to be somewhere where you feel valued and heard.

Cons

I can't think of anything so far!

Pros

I've been in the industry for 15 years, at big and small companies, and this is the best job I've had. The number 1 factor for me is competent leadership. It doesn't matter how cool the company or product is if your management chain makes your life miserable. At Mutiny, all levels of leadership have clear goals that track with the overall business strategy. Sounds basic, but if you've been in the industry, you know it's harder than it sounds. Second biggest factor is team atmosphere. Everyone is open and helpful. It's always motivating to work on a team where everyone is putting in a solid effort, and I definitely feel that here. The third biggest factor is impact. It's cliche to say, but we're a growing company, and as a technical contributor, it's so rewarding to see the work you do have such a positive impact. Code goes out the door fast, so you don't have to wait long to see it. There are many other more minor benefits, too, like being able to work from anywhere (I worked from Japan for a week, and other people have traveled and worked as well), management that encourages us to take PTO every quarter, and flexible working hours. I could go on, but those are my favorite things about this company.

Cons

No job is 100% perfect. When comparing offers I had with other companies, compensation was not the highest. However, they are very transparent about the value of the options you receive, and given how much I enjoy working here, I have no regrets. A second con would be needing to work across timezones. We have people from all over the world, from Hawaii to New York to Poland, and finding times that work for everyone can be challenging. Despite these drawbacks, though, I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.

Pros

- the team is made of folks with high-standards coupled with low-egos, which makes for an extremely collaborative work environment - the product is amazing - it feels great to work for a company building a world-class product

Cons

-fast paced environment, and employees work with a lot of ambiguity - but for someone who is looking to be part of the building stages of a start-up, this is really exciting and fun
