Pros

Impressive product that helps save lives. My skip was great: smart, creative, a good listener, calm under pressure, willing to address problems, and even had a good sense of humor. A lot of people were a dream to work with. Pay and health insurance.

Cons

I came from a smaller company (only about 55 people), where I had a lot more autonomy and responsibility than I had at Nauto. When I got the offer to join Nauto, I thought I'd have the same level (or higher) as I had at my previous company, but I didn't. In fact, I felt like I got a demotion when I joined Nauto. A couple of people did not treat me respectfully. There is a lot of marketing "debt" -- that is, there is a lot of marketing work that wasn't done when it should have been or wasn't done correctly. Now, there's a scramble to catch up. CMO by committee is really hard and makes overcoming the marketing debt that much harder.

True Startup with good trajectory

Pros

The work is very rewarding. Nauto is right on the edge of innovation, pushing the envelope on IoT, AI on the edge and real-time data processing. You can wear many hats and get involved wherever you can help aside from your main tasks. I have seen company initiatives grow out of side-projects and hackathons here. The company definitely went through rough patches, but that's how it is in a Startup. It is not for everyone but it is super rewarding. Especially when things go well. As the title says, it is a true Silicon Valley Startup (I have been in others) It is hard work, it is pushing through difficult problems, it is fixing new problems again and again, it is celebrating success because everyone wins, it will make you grow personally, it is not a 9-5 standard job, it is making friends for the long run because you are going through it together and you will share these stories. And most of all, at Nauto, it is saving lives.

Cons

We have a lot of opportunities and need to make very hard decisions about focus. We haven't done so well in that regard and still need to improve. We found product market fit, now it is time to stay the course and not to "get distracted".

Pros

- Cutting edge of computer vision/AI for driving, without biting off more than they can chew - Not trying to build a whole autonomous vehicle, instead trying to find a niche in the dashcam/safety space... thus capturing data that will be invaluable during the autonomous revolution. - Experienced leadership with a great track record of growing startups - Fun office (little stuff like happy hours and nerf battles and bigger stuff like good culture of comfortable co-working and communal problem solving)

Cons

- some hiring missteps led to a few bad eggs, who have since been weeded out. - international customers and contractors can mean some pretty long hours and time zone flexibility, but totally depending on your role - Not many PMs so many engineers have to self-start and be their own project/product manager (this can be a pro or a con depending on how you like to work)
