Pros

Excellent staff to work with both in therapy departments and throughout the hospitals.

Cons

Extremely poor office space for therapy staff at North NCH campus. Apparent lack of respect for extremely competent, necessary and what should be valued staff members. Lack of space to access computers away from general hospital floors which are becoming more and more dedicated to medical and case management staff. Therapy "office" with minimal space for computer access and lunch breaks too small to accommodate more than about half of the staff (large bathroom size).

Pros

Awesome SLP manager and great colleagues. Large system with multiple levels of care from acute (including two hospitals) to inpatient rehab, LTAC, and several outpatient rehab facilities. Excellent benefit package that includes programs for employee to improve health and activity level. Good pay for hourly with no benefits. Site-wide effort to become Blue Zone rated. Clean facilities and well organized. Low caseload during off-season. Excellent program for seasonal employees. Reimbursement for CEUs.

Cons

Working in outpatient rehab requires working with adults and peds. Low pay for full-time SLPs who also need benefit package. Cross trained in all levels of care to support weekend coverage, however pay is not commensurate with high skill level expected. PT earn the most, then OT, then SLP. Salary not inline with high cost of living in Naples, FL. Very high caseload during season, especially in acute.
