Pros

- Awesome atmosphere to work in. Young, energetic employees. -Casual dress code; You're allowed to wear shorts, jeans, sandals, and dri fit T-shirts to work. -You talk about sports to different families for your career. -Office is located in the outskirts of Lincoln Park, Chicago. -30,000k Salary -Very easy to be hired. -Gain valuable sales skills that will help you in the future. At the end of the day, if you are looking for a job and need work immediately, NCSA can provide that as well as giving you good experience. They teach you very good sales skills. If you can't find anything out of college, this is a good place to start. If you can live with the hours and working nights and weekends, you can make very good money. If you are older and a social life is less of a priority for you, National Scouting can be a very lucrative line of work.

Cons

-Expect to work 50 hours per week minimum, including one day per weekend. -A promotion from an entry level position consists of moving to a position that is LITERALLY a seven day per week job. -Upper Management will take advantage of you any way they know how. -Goals are consistently unreachable. The standards are so high that they become laughable I employees. -The turnover rate is frightening. The average Scout Coordinator will work at NCSA for 4-6 months. -Management will love you when you are doing well, and show no loyalty to you whatsoever when you are struggling. -Claim to care about families, strictly care about closing sales and making profit. -You will have to fabricate the truth several times per day to families. Getting their hopes up. Tears at your heart strings.

Pros

-Good atmosphere, very supportive colleagues and management at all levels. -Encouraged entrepreneurial spirit. -Potential to make $100+k in your first year and beyond.

Cons

-Your hours are whenever a typical family is available: Nights and weekends (7 days a week). -Work can get redundant, basically going over the same 45 minute call every hour. -Ever-increasing sales goals.

Pros

Young, fun environment. Promotion and advancement opportunities are endless. Solid management style. Very good at putting new hires in a position to be successful.

Cons

Management can be burdensome. Company expects a lot from workers that may not be employees. No benefits from the get go. Turnover rate can be high.
