Pros

Salary (especially if you have a Graduate Degree) Travel opportunities (I’ve traveled to 4 countries since 2012) Diversity (my colleagues are from all walks of life)

Cons

Heavy workload (it gets really busy and you have to be able to keep up) Challenge to promote due to external factors (e.g. Federal Government hiring freeze)

Pros

Good benefits and access to loads of great research

Cons

The administrative side of the research is led by an older demographic who are set in older, less efficient methods. The systems in place are incredibly antiquated and the culture is stagnant which means a lot of unnecessary busy work.
