Objective as possible

Pros

Learning environment, interesting cases, ability to help patients without the interference of health insurance limits, availability of cutting edge diagnostic and therapeutic resources. Hours are somehow flexible.

Cons

Poor opportunity for career advancement for staff clinicians, you depend on your superiors for it as opposed of being a merit dependent process. It is not a family supportive environment (no maternity leave at the NIH seems unimaginable to me). Salaries are very poor.

Pros

Many resources for postdocs, both scientific and career. Salary is better than at a university.

Cons

Being a postdoc is a horrible experience. We are mistreated and grossly underpaid. That said, NIH is the best place to do a postdoc.
