      Pros

      Pays well, some managers really have a passion for people and software. Discount on shoes is awesome if you're a sneaker head.

      Cons

      They track metrics for code checkins and ticket completions. When looking for people to shed, they look first at age, then at code metrics, without any regard for work done or effort. After 6 years with a spotless record, was told at the end that I had no worth to the company, then received a call the next day from an outside recruiter looking to fill my spot, same experience level and technology, but as a junior dev.

      Nike is shifting significant #s of technical engineering workforce out of Portland area in FY22

      Thoughtful leadership at the Sr Director level and below. Wonderful campus and overall team culture.

      Cons

      The plans to shift dozens to potentially hundreds of our contract technical engineering team members out of Portland and out of the US in this fiscal year is disheartening and reminiscent of a bygone era of cost cutting and skirting US labor regulations. New VPs to Nike Engineering Technology undermining our culture.

      Great brand, Committed people to their work, Pockets of genuine colleagues but rare

      Cons

      leadership is narcissistic and all talk no action unless it's it benefits themselves. Communication between leadership and employees is nonexistent. Even colleagues can be fake and backstabbing. If you're not part of the in-crowd with leadership - good luck. work life balance is not even a thought.
