Extreme micromanagement.

Pros

Decent pay, people are (usually) nice to work with, you always have something to do, and there's always room for advancement.

Cons

They've started micromanaging a lot. Like, A LOT. They track every single thing you do, whether it's time away from your desk, length of your calls, social media postings... everything. If you're off the phone long enough someone will find you and ask why, and tell you to take a call. It gets extremely stressful when supervisors walk around yelling to take a call due to the call volume-people on the phone can hear the yelling, and it's distracting. It's almost impossible to get recognition, and the 'suggestion box' is a joke. People can be two-faced, and untrustworthy. There is major favoritism towards people, and you advance when you know someone. To be completely honest, your shift and supervisor is what determines how well you manage yourself and your happiness there. They've begun letting people go often, and as a result we're short staffed for the call volume.

Imaging Is Awful

Pros

Established Company, Clean Building. Nice Cafeteria. Benefits (although that is changing by the day)

Cons

I have worked in our Imaging Department for over a year. The work is boring and the technology is outdated. The supervisors try their best to move us forward but have to deal with our upper management who have no clue whats going on down here. We now report to a manager who was recently promoted in the last year. its very obvious promotions are all about who you know versus what you know around here. Be aware of that and know that upper management is a clique. If you are on there good side you are golden. Get on there bad side and you have no chance. Everyone is concerned with this and the direction we are going. We're micro-manged and treated like we are in grade school. HR does nothing about it and senior management is never seen. The moral is terrible and our manager is in the midst of a reorganization. That is their answer to any problem, to reorganize reporting. Have they ever thought they may be causing all the problems down here? Treat us like we matter versus like we are children. And I will say it again, HR is blind to all of it.

Pros

Good people, good work/life balance, pay is ok and lunch room on site

Cons

Management is totally behind times!! Whatever they say goes doesn't matter if they are right or wrong. Supervisors don't stick up for you they just ride on the band wagon! They watch your every move here its ridiculous!! They don't value you here, hell the customers are treated better than the employees, it's sad!! Yes njm is a very reputable company and yes they do have good benefits, good salary, but is it worth it??? I pretty much had it here with this company. It's sad.
