Pros

Co-workers are generally nice and helpful, the facility it well kept, onsite cafe, decent benefits.

Cons

Changes are happening all over the place and they are not good. NJM Bank, with a motto that says "Fully Invested in You" is not so invested in you anymore since they sold to another bank and are closing the Trenton branch. Employees are supposedly being considered for positions on the insurance side but a senior team member was just let go -- actions speak louder than words! An announcement was just made that retiree health benefits are changing and basically those who spent many years at the company now have to go out an purchase their own medical with a little $$ help from NJM. If that's how they are going to treat those that spent their careers working at the company what do you think will happen to newer employees? It's a shame really.

Pros

Paid more than unemployment. Fairly close to home. They go out of their way to tell you about the free soup and that shows they care.

Cons

I worked at NJM during the "buzzer beater" days . That was a time when the buzzer sounded and you needed to be at your desk for your supervisors daily prisoner check. You needn't be doing anything. Just be at your desk looking lowly and pathetic and that would get you by. Today the buzzer is gone but the cell checks still go on. Be late by 5 or 10 and you need to take 15 minutes vacation time for your offense. That's If your super lets you. Often they prefer to mark you late and reflect your lates in your annual review. But that depends on who you were. A good boot lick was often cut a break or two or 53.

Pros

Great benefits that's about it.

Cons

Hostile work environment; change management failed; morale is poor. Top productive leaders were released or left, and they were the backbone of the bank. Current leadership is a joke.
