Pros
Good coworkers: most people at the bottom of the engineering hierarchy are young and enjoyable to work with. Lax culture in engineering: working hours flexible as long as you get your work done Good entry-level job. Understanding and reasonable low-level managers and team leads
Cons
Poor technical training. Poor middle management: the boss (manager's supervisor) had a huge ego, loved to micromanage, valued protocol and corporate policy over engineering excellence, and was anal about trivial details. If you didn't do things in his personal style, you were wrong. Poor compensation; don't expect a raise in the first three years. Poor opportunities for advancement within the company. Laid off before those that were less competent and experienced.
