      Pros

      Working for the most respected Oil Company in Texas, gave you a scene of pride, especially live in and around the Houston area.. When you went to the Dr. or even to purchase a car and mentioned you work for NOV, people would seem like the were ready to roll out the red carpet for you..Not to mention the Management team at NOV, if you needed anything to make your job safer or a little easier, it didn't take much convincing or time for those guys to get things rolling..

      Cons

      It's an industry driven by the market and cut backs and lay offs are apart of the game..

      Pros

      When the oil industry is good, NOV is a leader in manufacturing oil rigs and drilling equipment so it is always producing and has work. Customer satisfaction and employee safety is a priority. Tons of training is invested in employees.

      Cons

      Raises are not great could be better. Promotions called lateral moves so no pay increase is common. Advancement is hard when opporunites/positions are pre-filled within inner circles.
